Jaguar

Jaguar’s story is one of artful contradiction: brutal performance wrapped in breathtaking elegance. Founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company, it evolved under the leadership of Sir William Lyons into a maker of some of the world’s most beautiful and capable sports cars and luxury saloons. Jaguars were never the outright fastest, but they were often the most stylish and sophisticated, offering a unique blend of racing pedigree, opulent interiors, and seductive design that became known as ‘Grace, Space, and Pace.

  • XK Straight-6 (1949-1992): The heart of Jaguar. A dual-overhead-camshaft inline-six that was incredibly advanced for its time. It powered icons like the XK120, C-Type, D-Type, E-Type, and MkII saloons for over four decades.
  • V12 (1971-1997): The smooth powerhouse. One of the first production car V12 engines, it was designed for supreme smoothness and power in the Series 3 E-Type and the XJ12 saloon.
  • AJ-V8 (1996-2020): The modern workhorse. An all-aluminum V8 developed with Ford, used in the XK8, XJ, and S-Type, bringing modern performance and reliability.
  • Supercharged V6/V8 (2009-Present): The forced-induction era. Supercharged versions of the AJ-V8 and later Ingenium engines, providing massive power in models like the F-Type R and XJR.
  • Jaguar XK120 (1948-1954): The record-setter. The first production car with a top speed of 120 mph, it combined stunning looks with incredible performance.
  • Jaguar C-Type & D-Type (1951-1957): The Le Mans winners. Purpose-built race cars that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans five times in the 1950s, thanks to innovative disc brakes and aerodynamics.
  • Jaguar E-Type (1961-1975): The most beautiful car. Enzo Ferrari called it the most beautiful car ever made. It offered supercar performance at a fraction of the price.
  • Jaguar XJ Series (1968-2019): The quintessential luxury saloon. A long-running series of full-size sedans that defined Jaguar’s blend of comfort, style, and performance.
  • Jaguar XKSS (1957): The road-going D-Type. A converted D-Type race car built for the public. It is one of the most valuable and desirable Jaguars ever made.
  • Jaguar MkII (1959-1967): The compact executive. A sleek sedan that was beloved by both police and bank robbers for its speed and style.
  • Jaguar F-Type (2013-2024): The modern sports car. The spiritual successor to the E-Type, a beautiful grand tourer available as a coupe or convertible.
